Singleton usually has productive at bats--takes pitches, moves the runner, stays out of GIDPs.
If you look through some of the Sabermetrics for the 2024 Astros, it supports what I've seen. Looking under the RE24 column, Yordan, Tucker, Altuve, Diaz, Bregman, Caratini, Pena and Singleton (in order from largest RE24 down) all have positive RE24, suggesting they are better than average in producing runs based on the number of outs and baserunners on. Meyers, Dubon (somewhat surprising to me), and Chas are negative in RE24.
If the Astros are going to make the playoffs and make some noise, getting Tucker back on the field and playing a decent level and getting one of Meyers or McCormick to play at an average to "only slightly below average level" is probably key.
