That is still about 160 hits a season. Seems unlikely. He has only done that twice since 2018. Hopefully, a third time this year.

Is it a mystery? Seems pretty clear from the doctors that this is not rare from a bone bruise. There are a wide range of severity and recovery times.

it's not a payroll problem -- they aren't in payroll prison

have just one bad contract on the books (Benintendi)

team payroll for 2024 is about $133 MM

he may be shifting back into more of a singles hitter...like he was at the start of his career

appears to be wearing down as the season goes along

Well, that and being 10 games out of 1st in May/June.

Combine that with a tight division race, I have a feeling some guys are going to play 150+ games this season.

Yordan's HR yesterday was 117 MPH off the bat



Lets put that and Yordan into context.

The hardest-hit HR in Astros history (since 2015 when it started being recorded) was 117.7 MPH. It was Yordan vs OAK in Sept of 2023.



Of the top 20 hardest-hit home runs in Astros history, Yordan makes up 1 thru 8, 12 thru 17, and 20. 75% of the Astros top 20 leaderboard. The only other ones to make the list are Springer (3x) & Singleton (2x).

It will never happen, but I've always wanted to see an aluminum bat MLB Homerun derby at Coors field
