This is one silly meltdown. Deadline isn't over and Bloss has thrown like 11 total innings and put it on a tee repeatedly for the A's. We have no clue how any of this settles out.

I'd absolutely rather have Kikuchi than the state our rotation has been in for weeks.

Meanwhile, Tayler Scott dragging his sack yet again when we needed it.

Agreed. I don't hate the Kikuchi acquisition on its own, just the potential trading of Bloss + 2 more prospects for him when we are starved for pitching depth.

It's not about Bloss for me. I don't care about bloss at all. It's about the fact that I don't think Kikuchi really gets us where we want to be and will not be a postseason contributor.

which is exactly why we traded for a starter. We traded a guy who should be in the minors for a big league starter. Y'all are acting like bloss is in contention for rookie of the year.

Let's be honest - Yordan is in the middle of a "Yordan slump" - he'll hit .270-.280 w/ 0 HR and 2-3 RBI for about 2 weeks, then emerge as one of the top 5 hitters in the game. Seen it before.

If he doesn't walk a bunch, he gives up a **** load of hits then with that 1.377.

Career ERA and FIP are awfully close. His FIP is awfully low compared to his career, so I'm not confident in any favorable regression.

I'm glad he'll eat innings, just think unless you can get rid of Montero's contract with this trade, I don't really like it.

I first remember it being made a thing when Duran emerged for the Twins, but I have seen a lot of people acting this year like Skenes invented it.
