Flaherty is better but both are rentals and in both cases trading Bloss plugs one hole by opening another.

If Kikuchi is all we are getting and we are giving up Bloss and anybody not named Montero, then we got swindled because somebody felt like they "had to make a deal" no matter whether it actually improved the team.

Why? Seems pretty unfair considering he has less to work with than any team in baseball. He made some good offseason moves and has so far drafted well. Not to mention an owner who can't stay out of the way.

If I'm being optimistic, Kikuchi has owned the Yanks and Orioles, likely in part because they are lefty heavy. Should be a playoff starter against them.

No idea but I hope they are happy. I was arguing against the idea of doing a deal just to do a deal. With our luck, Crane will sign Kikuchi to a Montero style deal as part of the trade.

As long as there is a better move to come, I'm not as upset about it. He will eat a lot of innings this year and help our staff hopefully. But if this is the only move we make that really sucks.
