Trading Bloss for Flaherty wouldn't make sense. He's a rental and it doesn't solve your problem been since it's a starter for a starter. If he's traded it has to be a different player with control or I will be pissed.

It does and it doesn't. If Flaherty pitches like he has been then he's a postseason starter. Plus he's going to give you a great shot at winning every 5th day. I like a Bloss a lot, but he's going to have his ups and downs as a rookie and not likely on the postseason roster.

Problem solved

Plus Flaherty gives you more innings per start than Bloss does.

Then if JV makes it back you move Spence to the pen to help there.

We are also assuming it's only Flaherty. If it is with Detroit, we could be getting multiple players from them.

Flaherty is better than Bloss….for 2 months. Everyone here is crying about our rotation next year but then we're ok trading a cheap one away?

Bloss isn't a postseason starter but he's likely on the roster. I'd like to see him in the pen in September to see if he can give you what HB did his rookie year.

Chafin and Canha would be the only other players of interest.

Canha would be a great fit, but it would be hard to stomach the price tag monetarily (unless you swindled Detroit into taking Montero back).
