I believe when the timer "goes off" the umpire still has discretion over making a call, and there seem to be differing opinions on "readiness" of the batter at 8 seconds.

I think what made it seem so fast was the ump called the violation with like 4 seconds on the clock. Hader stepped off to ask for a ball and the ump just said nope that's a violation.

Very curious that they aren't pitching Gilbert in this series. About the only saving grace is that Munoz is fresh vs our pen, but that's cold comfort if you don't have a lead.

And Woo is very good but has had injury issues all year (source: on my fantasy team) and just came back again. He probably can't give much length and they've got to hope he gets a lot of soft contact. Otherwise against Blanco I'd be worried too.
Whether he's good or not, their pen may have to get 12-15 outs tomorrow.
