Look, I'm as happy as anyone here that we are playing well against teams we should be handling. That's great, and we certainly were not doing it early in the year. All I'm saying is that we should wait to throw a parade until we see it consistently against better competition. I think that's reasonable, given what we endured watching for the first month of the year.

The point of my post is they've actually been playing pretty well for almost 2 months now. It's not like it's been 2 weeks of good play.
No one is saying don't be cautiously optimistic with this team given the start of the year. This next road trip is a big test for where this team really is.
However, there are signs this thing is headed in the right direction - and it starts with dominating bad teams and winning at home, which they've been doing a lot lately.
We know what good baseball is and what a winning team looks like as we've experienced it for 7 years. What we're seeing now, especially over these past 2-3 weeks, gives lots of reason for optimism. Sure, stay cautious about it. I don't see anyone saying throw parades, but it's not like there isn't a reason for guys to be excited.
I'm a glass half full guy, so I'm always going to be more willing to subscribe to the "We're back, baby!" mindset more than most

The inompetence around player health has to stop. Whoever is in charge of this or has anything to do with these decisions needs to go.
By cutting Abreu and eating the contract, it showed the other players that the money you make doesn't matter. The team is there to win. By playing Abreu for so long without results showed how much he was being paid mattered -- not winning.
