tbh, seeing us with a 34.5% chance of making the playoffs is actually much higher than I expected it to be at this point with where we are. I'll choose to take that as a positive

They could have survived Mar/Apr. it was the losses against the As, Angels, the come from behind one with DF and now the one the other day against CWS that doomed them. Those are the bad losses.

Not dissimilar to us. Tons on SP injuries. Stars not living up to the billing. They were expecting rookies to show out. They haven't.
Losing Jung was a big blow for them as well.

I like Cabbage, dude just looks like a ball player and seems willing to do whatever is asked.
He mentioned in an interview recently that he almost exclusively played 1B in the minors so I don't understand why that experiment hasn't happened.

I don't know - those AL hats are kind of a retro. I actually like the AL hat. If it was a trucker style, it would be pretty sweet.
I am hoping for (but not counting on) a hot streak now that they've inched past the rangerettes. Hovering in 3rd place is hard. Maybe moving into 2nd place will give them some incentive & new life in an effort to catch #1.

The All Star Game uniforms were never broke, so they didn't need fixing. This is my 39 year old old man rant and I'll die on the hill that the ASG should always be home vs gray with each individual player's team uniform. It was so perfect.

Totally agree - always enjoyed seeing other team's traditional home and road uniforms in ASG.
The Astros put Victor Caratini on the IL with a "left hip flexor strain," called up Joey Loperfido, optioned Luis Contreras and DFA'd Blair Henley. Jake Bloss will wear No. 39 tonight during his major-league debut

You're adding a pitcher for a pitcher. And in this case Bloss is expected to be a long term solution. Henley was only ever added out of necessity. No reason he can be added back to SL. I doubt there is much of a market out there for him.
They've picked up Eric Lauer since Henley had to make his start. They didn't really see a scenario where he would come back up to the big league club.
Came back to mention they're swapping Bloss for Henley so it doesn't really make a difference at the end of the day, but saw Farmer brought it up above.

With this team you just never really know. All possibilities are on the table. It's a real crap shoot
If Loperfido and Cabbage are both starting in the OF in 2026, that means they both exceeded expectations by a ton.
