I know it's a bit of virtue signaling, but this is such a cool night for MLB. These novelty games (Field of Dreams, Little League WS) are great because they celebrate the game itself in its purist form. The Negro League isn't something we should be proud of in that it existed, but we can still appropriately celebrate it. Well done, MLB.

And is that the first time that Barry Bonds has done a media appearance?

I think so.

Powerful stories from Reggie Jackson there. I definitely think this is one of MLB's better calls among all the great ones you outlined. And so crazy that it's the week we lost Willie Mays.

Here's a random baseball trivia factoid I saw that I thought was absolutely insane

Greg Maddux faced 20,421 batters in his career.
Only 310 of them saw a 3-0 count.
177 of those 310 were intentional walks.

That's just unfathomable to me and I think Maddux is severely underrated when speaking in terms of the greatest pitchers of all time.

You are correct - he created every one of those extra innings with how he set them up.

IMO it's either him or Johnson when you are measuring who was the greatest pitcher of all time, at their peak. (Nolan may get the career award on longevity)

I agree but it's odd because I was thinking about it and if you asked a handful of baseball fans who they think are the top 5 pitchers of all time I feel like a lot of them would not include Maddux.
