the Astros may have been sandbagged
If, let me emphasize if, the Astros need a spot starter tomorrow, Eric Lauer is scheduled to start for Triple-A Sugar Land.

We have zero pitching depth in the majors and minors. There's nothing good about this.

I would have neck discomfort too if I slept on Kate's pillows all the time.

SO sidenote convo, I FINALLY got the call up in the show '24 to the Astros as a pitcher. Current dynamic difficulty level is Legend, but MY GOD the difference between AAA and the MLB is night and day.
Trying to strike people out is damn difficult.
Anyways, back to our regularly scheduled Astros talk
I see what you did there. It's a great way to stay n_touch with good punsn_touch said:All I do is Nguyen said:

It's hard to Nguyen at that level but eventually that is all you will do.
Justin Verlander’s been dealing with neck soreness for the past two or three weeks, Joe Espada said. He tried to pitch through it. Verlander cut his bullpen short this week between starts. The Astros don’t think it’s an IL situation, Espada said, but Verlander is getting examined

Justin Verlander said his neck has been bothering him for a couple of weeks but is getting better. He said his prognosis is good and he hopes to miss one start.

Jeff Bagwell is a classic example of when a jock (even an elite one) gets out front of his skis and tries to develop a roster. But at the end of the day, Jim Crane made that decision. Hof players like Jackson and Bagwell doesn't = brilliant roster builders.

Unfortunate for both sides? Abreu gets $30M to not work. He made out like a bandit
Ronel Blanco could start tomorrow on regular rest, but Joe Espada mentioned how much Blanco has thrown recently. Bear in mind, he's never thrown more than 125 innings in a season. Blanco's thrown at least 95 pitches in each of his last four starts. Astros are still TBA for Sunday

Joe Espada said if Kyle Tucker "doesn't start running around here the next day or two," a rehab assignment will be something the team "starts to kick around."
