Magical night! I laugh at all the bleeders early on the game thread. Have they not watched this team this year? Oh yeah, of course not.tjack16 said:
It was about 4 people over from me and one row up. My brother who was sitting to my right actually probably could've caught it if he had stood up on the bleachers.
It honestly looked like it would not even get to us off the bat, but it just kept carrying and carrying

Some thoughts on the Astros’ bullpen usage, Yainer Diaz’s resurgence and Jose Altuve being “in the middle of somewhere trying to find myself” - https://t.co/xiBAPtgtAL

Pressly threw 25 pitches, a workload that got magnified Sunday when Houston's bullpen had to cover four innings of a two-run game. Abreu and Pressly pitched again. Within 17 pitches, Pressly gave away the two-run lead he inherited, inflating his ERA to 5.40 across 27 appearances.
"We're going to continue to rely on him," Espada said. "He's one of our guys. He's a big part of our bullpen. I believe in him. He has gotten big outs for us in the past, and he will."

A&M’s starting pitchers combined for 2 innings.
Lost two of their best players in the first inning of each game.
Down by 3 and 5 in both games, respectively.
Only hit 2 HR’s to Oregon’s 5.
Still swept & won by 10 runs combined.

I don't know who needs to hear this but Trevor Bauer will not be an Astro. I've had several people confirm that it's not happening and never was.

Or even watched the team yesterday. Down 6-2 yesterday and won too

the Astros just cannot get a sweep
and they need to get several to make up for the 4 sweeps suffered in the first month

cannot get the sweeps in America
Technically Mexico is a part of "America" so I'm still counting it.W said:

Regarding Pressly and this part of the article, I think the context provided by the surrounding paragraphs is needed. They question why Espada used Pressly on Saturday -- with a 5-run lead. Pressly wasn't needed on Saturday, and Espada used him anyway.Marvin said:EastCoastAgNc said:Some thoughts on the Astros’ bullpen usage, Yainer Diaz’s resurgence and Jose Altuve being “in the middle of somewhere trying to find myself” - https://t.co/xiBAPtgtAL

I get Espada saying that to the public, but it's another thing to actually keep doing it. I'm just glad he didn't come out and say he's still the setup guy. I may be reading something into what was not spoken, but I choose to believe that Joe is not a complete idiot.

It feels like the team has reverted a little bit into old school thinking.htxag09 said:
Am I the only one surprised we don't do matchup based bullpen decisions moreso than by default this guy gets the 8th, 9th, etc?
