Let me ask you this question: are the players on this roster naturally wired to take pitches or are they naturally wired to take swings?

The number of pitches these guys see is based on how they naturally are. If you want to have a team that grinds down guys by seeing a lot of pitches, you have to get those guys on your team. Outside of Tucker and Bregman, this team is not constructed that way.

Offensive coaches can stress be patient all they want, but instinct is eventually going to win out.

So is it better to try to give them an approach to help what comes naturally to them and that's helped them be successful to this point, or is it better to ask them to do something that doesn't come naturally to them?

To me, it's clear the current organization stresses contact over grinding pitchers down.
