At least with Jake it's expected. Every team has weakness in the bottom. You can't afford your worst hitter to be one of your core and in the 2 hole.

We are so used to seeing guys miraculously keep their skills late into their 30's that it blows us all away when a guy hits a wall early. And Bregman had definitely hit his sale by expiration date early

Jake pulled the bat back on the 1st pitch b/c it was outside and the umpire screwed him. I guess we called off the bunt after that.

Bregman never had "prime" tools, though. Good contact skills, but below avg EV, and he got by on having a godly eye and getting good launch angles. Not sure why his angles are so bad this year, but it could just be skill erosion.
