If they're like 10+ games under after these next 2-3 series then I'll accept a lost season is in the cards. But they've got a chance this weekend to undo some damage and just need to try and climb back slowly until the pitching injuries get rectified.

I live in Missouri. I was hoping the Cardinals would move Paul Goldschmidt for elite starting pitching in the offseason. First baseman Luken Baker had 314 ABs at AAA Memphis last year. He hit .334 (slugging .720) with 33 HRs and 98 RBI. Again, that was with only 314 ABs.
Baker has mastered AAA, is 27 yo, and is back down there again wasting what is left of his 20s. I mention that because I'd just as soon see Baker traded to Houston if he might have a chance to play there. He is actually from Houston (played his college ball at TCU).
I thought that letting Yuli slip away was the right decision at the time but he is surely missed. Abreau couldn't hit the ground if he fell out of a tree and Yuli has much better skills at first base.

The issue is the bullpen is completely screwed with the awful starts lately. And Abreu and Hader apparently still can't have clean, run free outings.
