It's unbelievable that a line up with 4 regular starters with BAs over .333 is so poor at scoring…that really is a testament to how little you're getting out of Bregman, Tucker, Abreu, McCormick/Meyers.

Astros pitching ERAs so far tonight: 21, 7, 13

All you can do is laugh it off and hope the starters return soon.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

I don't miss you nearly as much as Captain Lou misses an 89mph fastball

Who would trade for a Bregman rental especially if he sucks up until the trade deadline?

I remember the days of finally talking my parents into getting cable in the late 80s to watch the home games on HSE. I'd love getting home from school and watching the games. Luckily the away games weren't on cable at the time, so watched those on the UHF station. Channel 20, right? We've had an outstanding run and until October I'm not going to be confident it's over.

Other than the non-TV years, I've been an Astro fan day in, day out since I was old enough to wave to Cesar Cedeno from the pavillion (1977). Maybe the end is nigh or maybe we turn it around when we get healthy, but my Astro fandom doesn't waver.

Hopefully the "EVERYONE SUCKS" posters will lose interest and find other pasttimes if the losing keeps up, but I doubt it.
For now, let's just try to will some runs across the plate and make this a game.

Been a Stros fan for a very long time. Probably longer than you, and will ALWAYS be an Astros fan. But man…,something is very wrong with this team. It's early and still time to turn it around, but on a daily basis I'm losing hope that the window is still open. We're setting ourselves up to have to make a historical, miraculous run late in the season.

That sounds like a TexAgs valentine card.

There are so many dead spots they can't help it.

This team currently is a pitching staff full of JAGs and a lineup that is allergic to hitting with runners on. Is it 2014 again?

I'll tell you one thing, I'd be playing Dubon more.

It's ok. I'll be the fall guy. Sure doesn't seem like getting rid of me fixed the teams issues though

Bregman has no pop. His average exit velocity was about league average last season at 88 mph and his slugging % thus far this season would be great if it was his batting average but just no extra bases. He is also now 30 so it won't better unless he gets a lot stronger. Not suggesting that his wife inject him but…

Brotha……..I watched Bob Watson and Roger Metzger and Doug Rader play at the Dome. I've pretty much seen it all with this team and I'm not going anywhere.

But man it still sucks watching it unravel like this.

This is the acceptance phase.

Given how poor the Astros are at scoring on a game-to-game basis…how embarrassing to give up a run without even allowing a hit.

This team can't seem to not shoot itself in the foot. After blowing another very winnable game again last night, here we are with getting dinked and dunked all over the place.

This is why people are losing patience despite it being early on. Getting a win streak going feels nearly impossible. I wish Dana would stop talking about it on 790 every week.

Part of this is a function of our better pitchers being injured, but we don't miss enough bats as a pitching staff. Below average at holding runners, again, at least by the eye test. Lots of little things that we don't have a margin for. I'm sure there will be a two week stretch where we're torrid, but I don't see it now.

Just out of curiosity I womdered if there was another 3B who was having a worse year than Breggy to start the a season.

Yes. Yes there is. And he is costing a metric crap ton more than SalsaMan.

I give you the one. The only. Mr "I don't really care about baseball" himself. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Anthony Rendon.

That's some spectacular suckage there. You have to try to be that bad. Or on Anthony's case, not try.

Crane has been a great owner….

But he f***ed up getting rid of Click. Combine that with the loss of draft picks and the Abreu/Montero fiasco and we've gotten real old, real quick.

That's some pretty rough company to find yourself in if you're Bregman.

They've certainly got it in them. I'm curious what kind of attitude lift having JV in the dugout will bring. Early on they thought he may start tomorrow. But obviously that's been pushed back. Hope he's starting before May.

Eh…Click wasn't particularly great. Consider that he is a WS winning GM who has been without a GM job for 2 seasons now.

Think it could be an interesting trade deadline. Wouldn't suprise me if we are 5 games below .500 but playing good ball (15-10 in the last 25 or something like that). Do you stick it out and hope for that run or start looking to the future? And how far in the future? Just trade pending free agents or consider Tucker or Framber for bigger hauls?

This be fair, how many GM jobs have opened up?
