Pulled from the offseason thread:Quote:
HOF Second Baseman WAR - 53.0 Bobby Doerr (15th), 55.1 Billy Herman (14th) (Currently 52.6) - it won't be in 2024 but next up is 59.9 Jackie Robinson, 60.4 Joe Gordon, & 60.9 Ryne Sandberg. Passing that group would be amazing.
Altuve (Currently 54.6) has now passed Doerr, will very likely pass Herman in the first half of this year, and have Robinson, Gordon, & Sandberg in his sights for 2025. It's hard to judge how a player with age, but there is no reason why Altuve won't crack the top 10 (62.7) for 2B in the HOF before it's all said and done. Biggio's 65.8 is probably the perfect target to aim for. That would be 11.2 WAR over the next 6 seasons.
Beltre - 24.0
Cruz - 23.6
Ortiz - Ortiz
Hunter - 14.7
Turner - 12.9
Molina - 12.9
Rodriguez - 12.6
Beltran - 12.3
A list full of guys with a ton of suspicion, accusations, and failed tests.
Altuve is the equivelant of a 31 year old.
Well, only b/c they still owe him like 28 Milliontexasaggie2015 said:
Guys, they aren't giving up on Abreu anytime soon. He's always been a slow starter and we're 4% of the way through the season.
Abreu has already had 2 days off. Last year he didn't get his second day off until June 4th (59th game).Mathguy64 said:W said:Dana's not going to mess around with Abreu this yearMathguy64 said:

Just as importantly Joe doesn't appear to be waiting either.

This is the third game of José Abreu's 1,418-game major-league career that he will start and hit lower than sixth in the batting order. Joe Espada said he had a conversation with him about it, as he would with any player in a similar situation.

Full minor league action starting tonightLuciano and Gomez headline a fun lineup rounded out by 2023 draftees Ochoa and Jaworsky. Pecko is a potential helium guy on the pitching side with a lot of appealing traits. Let's go! https://t.co/WWsvtUnlN6
