probably the last chance for stat-padding today

“Right now, they’re two of the best lefty hitters against lefty pitching,” Espada said.

Win today and we'll need 1 of 3 against Seattle. Would be nice to clinch the division against them.

I'm hoping for an Astros and Rangers win today and be done with it.
Would be nice.

Can only clinch a tie today. But would still be in fantastic shape.
I wonder if this is a full time solution at 1st base next year? A rotation of Caratini and Diaz at first and catcher with Salazar as the backup catcher and Singleton backing up at first.Mathguy64 said:tjack16 said:Mathguy64 said:
The RHP lineups have started to leave Big Jon on the bench.
I think it's because Caratini has put himself in a spot where he's too valuable to be taken out of the lineup.
I agree. Joe has been much more creative with his selections than the previous guy.
Astros GM Dana Brown, on the team’s pregame show on @sportstalk790, said OF Chas McCormick will swing the bat tomorrow. “We’re hoping he gets back for last weekend of the season,” he said. “He’s feeling a lot better, minimal pain.”

Ben Gamel's fibula fracture will "most likely" take him out for the postseason, Astros general manager Dana Brown told the team's pregame radio show.

Maybe, maybe not. The Tigers are in a fight to earn a spot in the postseason. Skubal is scheduled to start Tuesday which means he would be available to start Sunday if it is a must win situation for Detroit. Of course they are playing the ChiSox so they might risk it and stick to their normal rotation.Quote:
If the Tigers don't scare you, you have not been paying attention. Do not want to face them in a 3-game series with the Cy Young winner getting the ball in game 1..
Our situational hitting is terrible and has been all season. Would be nice to see the hitting coach answer for it.AggieJ2002 said:
This team's inability to bring runners in from 3rd with less than 2 outs is going to be our achilles heel in the playoffs. A bad record in 1-run games is not an accident or luck
What an interesting decision that would be for AJ, because if you pitched him Sunday, he would only be available for a not guaranteed game 3...on short rest. If you don't pitch him, and you lose, you are second-guessed the entire offseasonjkag89 said:Maybe, maybe not. The Tigers are in a fight to earn a spot in the postseason.
