I wouldn't trust him in relief. He's never done that in his career. We'd be Robbie Ray'ing him. He's either starting, or not on the roster, and he shouldn't be starting.

I think the org is capable of having a frank conversation with JV. He's not stupid, nor does he want to be an anchor to the team's chances. If you can't throw him in game 1 or 2, why would you throw him in a winner take all game 3?
