Verlander has no control early. According to the google PBP app, he hasn't thrown an actual strike yet. Both called strikes so far have outside the zone.

I agree, I read it wrong. You can't have him in the rotation even if he manages to win this game or the next. He is clearly washed.
For a 3 game WC series? He's not starting. Framber, HB, Kikuchi are all in front of him with Ronel as a backup. He's not on the WC roster for me.
