Virtually all season, opportunities to "take care of business" have been wasted. We should be running away with the division. Disappointment with the team's performance has been the rule rather than the exception.

I'm looking for Brown to be the "stopper" this afternoon and for the offense to wake up but this team is not known for checking in on the last day of road trips.

I'm guessing the Jays value Vlad more than that. His salary is likely what is holding his value down but that's not as big given a deterrent for some big market clubs.

The deals with the Orioles seem good with Mullins and Mountcastle, but really adds no pitching. I think our #1 position to bolster is SP.

Agree, that's why if we do a deal with the Orioles (to get Mountcastle), I'd rather replace Mullins with a SP in the trade. Just don't know who that would be or if the Orioles would do it.

Question(s) for the thread.

As of now, I think our postseason rotation will be a combination of Framber, JV (assuming he returns), Blanco, & Sinker Brown. As a whole, it's solid.

My question is, should we target an innings eater? That way we see less Bloss and Spaghetti, as well as skip a Blanco or Brown start so they're not used up.

Or

Do we go all in and get a postseason quality starter? With it being a sellers market, I think a that type of arm probably costs you one of Matthews & Melton plus another piece, maybe more depending on the control.

Bonus question - which arms on the market would 95+% crack our planned postseason rotation?
  • Skubal - yes
  • Crochet - yes
  • Flaherty - based on 2024? yes
  • Eovaldi - probably
  • Fedde - if he continues how he has been, yes, but can he?
  • Bassitt - I kind of lean no
  • Anderson - I kind of lean yes, but maybe not.
  • Anyone else?
