The old coming out before dirt went in for rodeo.

Plastic grass has a lifespan and it shortens each time it gets stuff placed on it. The technology is "improving" to try and imitate grass but it's still nowhere close. Small amount will be cut and sold while most is going to a plastic grass graveyard.

Someone said "seems late" but it's been planned this way for quite some time. Get through college games, covered for rodeo then new field for the big club.

I really can't see how we don't find a package that would greatly improve the White Sox with some of the guys we have blocked. Duran could be one. Duran 1:1 for Cease?! Probably. Winn may have more value than White, but either one... both likely need a change of scenery.

Outside of that, I think they could take all the talent they can get.

They signed Maldonado to C in '24. So, I would think Huff could be of interest.
They had Andrus at 2B, last year and have some guy named Nicky Lopez at 2B. Some 29yo they got from Atlanta. Foscue might be an improvement.

They are really not in a position to compete in '24 and I don't think they have any intention to do so.

It might be regrettable, but I'd probably be willing to include Bradford if it meant 2 years of Cease. Bradford has at least 5 years of control and depending on what credit he got for '23, it might be 6.

Sometimes a GM gets locked on a vision. If he was Duran required, nothing else mattered.

If the Yankees want to add SP... they are now forced to add Snell. Or Monty.

I don't think Monty wants back in NY, and the Yankees sensed that by his lack of interest.

Yankees sign Snell and Padres get their Comp pick. If Snell is still a FA after the draft, Padres get nothing.

Preller will move Cease once Snell is signed.

It looks like SDP gave up a bunch with their 5th, 6th, & 7th ranked prospects but I don't think they are that highly touted overall.

Wondering if a guy like Lorenzen is someone we'd entertain now? Just to provide some depth for the first half of the season.

It was rumored CWS were interested in Lorenzen just as the Cease trade rumors started.

If I were a betting person (and I'm not) he'll sign with a team like CWS with the plan to trade him at the deadline if he is performing.

It would surprise me if the Rangers had interest. If they do, then we've got some serious concerns.
