Monty has been a nice, steady starter, but he doesn't put up the numbers that I think will draw crazy competing offers. He'll be expensive, but I think very manageably expensive especially when you consider Perez's salary comes off the books

I resign Monty, sign one quality reliever, and see if I can flip a prospect like Foscue for a 2nd quality reliever.

I had Heaney at 0% exercising the option.

From what I'm reading, his Innings were improved, which put him in the contract he is in. His other numbers were worse, like ERA. I think my assumption was that his increased IP would trump the other numbers and teams like LAD, et al, would see him as a more durable option.

If the Rangers improve their RP, his ERA will come down because LOB% will come down, IMO. Either the money isn't out there for him, or there are too many other options for teams to take the risk. Pretty surprising, IMO.

What's wild is how close he was to hitting the 20 million to opt in via innings pitched!
