As long as you feel comfortable with Framber aging and then I think that would be a good deal. He's a sinker Baller with a big breaking ball. He's not relying on High Velo so you would think he'll age well.
Justin Verlander will begin the season on the IL, Joe Espada said. Verlander did not have a setback but won’t have time to build up before Opening Day and the Astros want to be “smart” with his buildup, Espada said.

Blessing in disguise. Opens the window for Arrighetti. Shortens the season for the 41-year-old. We'[ll be able to make room by putting Graveman on the 60-day IL, but it also might put pressure on Dana to clean up the 40-man a little by making some trades.spadilly said:Justin Verlander will begin the season on the IL, Joe Espada said. Presuming Justin Verlander goes on the IL on Opening Day — March 28 — the earliest he could return would be April 11 against the Royals at Kauffman Stadium.

More updates from Espada:
— Brian McTaggart (@brianmctaggart) March 5, 2024
-- J.P. France will face hitters in live BP on Wednesday and is on target to begin the season in the rotation.
-- IF Chris Gittens & IF Dixon Machado were both reassigned to Minor League camp. Gittens recently had knee surgery/Machado has quad injury.

Giolito could require season-ending elbow surgery, per @JeffPassan.
He's on the first year of a two-year, $38.5 million contract. https://t.co/N4QJKedwdl
I am very tempted to go back in the next couple years before they move. That trip was a blast, and I think it is a mistake to move the stadium.agdaddy04 said:
I may buy tickets to KC just in case. With them building a new stadium I'd like to check it out anyway

I just read the article and it's not a 5-year extension at 105 its buying out this year and next then tacking on 3 years. It's more like a 3/75 M deal after arbitration for ages 32, 33, and 34. With the lack of arms in our farm system, I would be 100% in on this.
It would mean we'd have the following rotational arms in the future
2026: Framber, McCullers, Javer, Brown, France
2027: Framber, Javier, Brown, France
2028: Framber, Brown, France

How long has it been since McCullers has hit the mound. Seems like almost two years? I can't see him making it through the season with his track record.
That, I did. Good catch. He'll be there in 2026. It'll be interesting to see how he's used moving forward.EastCoastAgNc said:You forgot Luace in hereFarmer1906 said:

I visited both Kauffman and Busch Stadium last year. The difference between the two was night and day, but I'm sure the new park in KC will be great.Beau Holder said:agdaddy04 said:

I loved my visit to Kauffman in '22. Very fun park, nice people, the Royals HoF in LF is awesome. It is in a concrete wasteland 8 miles from the city center but it is what it is.

Astros GM Dana Brown said he’s not in the market for starting pitching. He envisions a rotation of Valdez, Javier, Urquidy, Brown and France to start the season. Additional depth with Ronel Blanco and Spencer Arrighetti.

I think we've seen enough over the years to know that Bielak is not starter material.linkdude said:
