I like to let the game be my first pick.Farmer1906 said:
Same. I was hoping today was the 1/9. I always have the same first guess. I think yall know who.
Funny enough, when I saw B/T, I thought the other CFer first. Wild the Astros have two CFers who are that same B/T combo.superaggie73 said:tjack16 said:Farmer1906 said:

Took me 3 guesses. But yeah I always have the same 1st guess. I always go Altuve first
Took me 2 guesses today and I always start with Altuve as well. As soon as I saw B/T, I knew who it was.
Love Uncle Mike. Will be bummed to not see that swing anymore. That dude was so much fun to watch hit.Teddy Perkins said:5x All-Star and World Series champion Michael Brantley is retiring, per @jonmorosi. pic.twitter.com/KA0f28uZOD

Thought he had more in the tank but this makes sense. Will always love the professional hitter.
#Astros Michael Brantley had 6,163 plate appearances during his career, he struck out looking just 210 times... 62 of which came on pitches that were out of the zone. pic.twitter.com/j1ZtzMFYPw

BREAKING: The San Francisco Giants and Seattle Mariners are in agreement on a trade that will send former Cy Young winner Robbie Ray to the Giants for outfielder Mitch Haniger and right-hander Anthony DeSclafani, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN.
— Jeff Passan (@JeffPassan) January 5, 2024
Robbie Ray is coming off Tommy John surgery and is owed $73M over the last three years of his contract, though he has an opt-out after the 2024 season. He's expected to return after the All-Star break. Mitch Haniger, a longtime Mariner who left for San Francisco in free agency…

Mariners getting cash in this deal.

The best part of this play is that Aaron Judge is like 9 feet tall, so it take him 8-10 steps to run from 1st to 2nd, yet his instincts are so bad that he was still out by 50 feet trying to get back.spadilly said:
In honor:
Logan Gilbert and George Kirby. While not up, I think extensions may be on the way for them. Keep both of them more long-term for cheaper than Robbie.Farmer1906 said:Robbie Ray is coming off Tommy John surgery and is owed $73M over the last three years of his contract, though he has an opt-out after the 2024 season. Shedding more money. I think the Mariner are going to spend a little now.

Going to be interesting to see Miller's second year, but that 1-2-3 of Castillo, Gilbert, and Kirby is nasty.Farmer1906 said:
Gilbert 3 years
Castillo 4 years
Kirby 5 years
Miller 6 years
Woo 6 years
They are so soooo set at pitching.
In second trade, Mariners would acquire outfielder Luke Raley from the Rays for infielder José Caballero, sources tell @TheAthletic. Deal not yet complete.

Interestingly, Robbie Ray had a no-trade clause in 2022-23 that converted to a $1 million trade assignment bonus in 2024. Jerry DiPoto made it four whole days into 2024 before trading him! Such restraint!

What's funny.. Uncle Mike wasn't much of a vocal leader. But when he spoke, everyone listened. One of those guys. Just extremely well respected.EastCoastAgNc said:
