She gonna keep saying Altuve is a cheater and is not to be respected? This the king of “journalism” I can expect from the Comical going forward? pic.twitter.com/UYZvMRG3a1

So becoming an @astros reporter is what it took to finally delete tweets declaring him a cheater? Lol can’t wait until he makes you feel awful when you see how awesome a non-cheating human being he is. Welcome to town! https://t.co/p0Cn5eEntg

That Leah Vann saga is a cautionary tale. If you're going to work for an organization that you've trashed before in the past either:

1. Don't
2. Make sure the bodies are buried
3. Get ahead of it before a crazed fanbase does. PR is like sports. Better % of winning with a lead.
You guys broke her. Mission accomplished. You animals got exactly what you wanted. What she said about Altuve was stupid, but y’all come across as being a billion times worse than she ever was. pic.twitter.com/7k0CIIQ6eZ

she said she wanted to off herself over this stuff? this is insane…
i need someone to give me all the details on this drama
They are being more active because they have MUCH further to go to field a team competitive enough to make it to an ALCS, much less the postseason.EastCoastAgNc said:The Royals being more active than the Astros at this stage of the off season is making me feel a certain type of way. 😂😂😂

So they can't sign anybody. Fine. There are plenty of areas that can be improved, and trades are allowed.Farmer1906 said:
It's not about being logical. The offseason is boring for teams who don't have a lot to do or money to spend. Does anyone think Hunter Renfroe is an upgrade over Tucker & Chas? Anyone want Will Smith in our bullpen? Who wants to commit 45 M to Seth Lugo then pay an extra 3 M in year 1 because we're over the tax?

I ventured over to the Ranger thread when I saw Max had surgery and one of them made a good point.
They may not be willing to go over the CBT because if (or when depending on how you feel) Bregman becomes a FA he'll get a QO and if we're over the CBT then the return draft pick goes to a 4th rounder instead of a 2nd rounder if they're under.
That accurate? If so probably explains why Crane wants to stay put especially if building the farm backup is a priority.

You're right, the offseason is boring and anti-climactic. It also kinda feels like they aren't doing anything to address the glaring issue from last year, especially in the postseason (at home at least)...the offense. That's my point of frustration.
It is factually correct. I suspect that it is a factor, but certainly not the only one. This is really multiplied by two because Altuve would also get a QO if not extended. We will then be in the same boat next year with Framber and Tucker. It isn't just picking earlier, it also impacts the bonus pool you have available. The supplemental second last year was $1.1-1.2M while the 4th was a little under $500k.Ag_07 said:

She should resign. Let’s be realistic - she hasn’t even started the job yet and already deactivated her account due to mental health. This isn’t going to work for her or the fans

Great reporting here.

The Mariners will enter the 2024 season as the sole, 100% owner of ROOT.
That means they’ll have to either pay to produce the games themselves (WB Discovery was doing this) or partner with MLB.
And it sounds like they’re eyeing layoffs: https://t.co/Jrf8TTZqaH pic.twitter.com/TerGa5EoRS

I’ve heard that the @astros nearly traded Framber to the @dodgers for significant young controllable talent. (Not sure how close they were, but apparently there were discussions.)

With Framber’s value being high right now would you be comfortable trading him?

Hmmm…I'd certainly consider it. Framber is a big reason our season last year was frustrating and I'm not sure if he'll turn it around
