The A's to Vegas makes a ton of sense to me. However, I cannot for the life of my understand them approving to build a full outdoor stadium with no retractable roof. Those June through September games in the desert will be hot as hell and will likely draw in the same attendance.

This gets brought up every few years. If we trade away a core piece in order to get prospects then it's time to say we're not serious about winning more titles. At that point it would be a mini rebuild or just try to be good enough to make the playoffs.
We have Altuve at the back of his prime. Tucker in his prime. Bregman in his prime. Alvarez in his prime. Verlander still good. Framber in his prime. Javier in his prime. McCormick in his prime. Pressly at the back of his prime. Abreu in his prime. Why on earth would anyone want to take away and not go for it?

This is an extremely well put-together way to frame my own thinking during the endless Maldonado discourse over this past calendar year. It’s a tough balance to work (write, analyze, recommend, etc.) with what you do know, while acknowledging the vastness that you don’t. https://t.co/1JYo9MHLbm

Who knows. Seems too random to just be made up. He's got his own horse racing company, maybe that's big in AZ. It is closer to home (New Mexico).W said:

It doesn't make sense if his wife is from here and they have little ones. Maybe he is buying a second home in AZ to be closer to his family.W said:

He's from New Mexico and has family out there - he's worth ballpark $50m, and will likely retire in less than 8 years. Why is it interesting he has a house where he'll probably live after baseball?
I own a farm I don't live at, but do plan to once I retire in a few decades.
That matches with Nightengale said. It's a bummer, but I do get not wanting to spend bad money.texasaggie2015 said:
I know they were looking at homes that way. He has family there.
I've also heard it's pretty unlikely he signs an extension here.
