When this world series started, I was pulling for the rangers to go up 3-0, then proceed to lose next 4 by way of a walk off each game or missed fly ball to right. I'll be satisfied with this scenario at 3-1 too.

Rangers offense is perplexing to me. They hit for decent power but it seems they catch almost every break possible offensively (wall scrapers getting out, weak liners dropping between outfielders, soft grounders finding holes, defensive misplays, passed balls/wild pitches, etc.)

In their last 11 playoff games they've had 1 game where the team xBA was over .300 (ALCS game 7). For comparison, the Astros had 3 games over .300 against Texas and 2 others above .285. Most of the time they had an xBA in the .250 or below range in that span.

Feels a lot like the 2015 Royals - decent team but not great. Got hot at the right time and had the baseball gods on their side. Gotta be a good feeling.

I hate Dallas as much as the next guy, but they were in first place for 161 games for a reason. Not just some random team that got hot at the right time.

Ehh, they won 90 games and had several stretches where they were in disarray including in September. They're now about to be 10-0 on the road in the postseason. They absolutely got hot at the right time

From what I was told, we would absolutely be interested in him but the general belief across the industry is that he ends up in New York to manage the Mets

His teams just didn't have the talent some of the other teams did. I think it's really as simple as that. He's one of the most well respected managers in the industry.

Counsell seems to have a pretty good gig. Expectations are low, making the playoffs is viewed as an achievement, and his fam live in the upper Midwest. My guess is he uses the interest of the Mets, Astros, Indians, and their dog to get paid much more doing that job.
