Yep. Crane is a smart business and isn't going to rush an important personnel decision. There were a couple other intriguing names but Espada always seemed like the clear man to beat. Guys like Ausmus and Washington were just media speculation fillers.

Eligible players who are not added to the roster by then can be selected by another organization in the Rule 5 Draft, which is Dec. 6 in Nashville.

Gonna miss the windmill.
My fav memory of his is at Camden yards in 2015 I was sitting front row third base side right next to the dugout. It was 0-0 going into the sixth I believe and as Pettis was walking to his spot I yelled out "Hey Gary! Let's get some runs please?"
He just looked back with a "no **** Sherlock" type of look, but we put up several runs that inning and won. Not saying I should get the third base coach job, but I should be in contention.

One of the things I'm happiest about for Espada is that he gets a taste of the "big bucks". I think an MLB Bench Coach makes decent money but somewhere in the range of 200-400k. That's great money but it's not quite "rich". Espada never had a career in the bigs so never had a big payday and now should be making north of 600-700k/year I would guess. Still not quite generational wealth level but hopefully he will succeed and get to that 7 figure point

Astros shed Dusty and shoot for 8 straight LCS
Aggies drop Fisher and look like they have a plan not to accept mediocracy
Aggie basketball and baseball also look very promising this year
I'm not saying it's all going to work out perfectly, but I really like the direction they are all trying to go
