I feel similarly to how I felt at the deadline last year. I'm overjoyed we landed a big fish. I don't love what it cost and in the back of my mind worry how it impacts the long term ability to keep others. But F that. Thats for future Farmer to worry about.

We've just shortened the F*** outta every game we play (assuming no injuries or other issues). Tell our starters we just need 5 or 6 so you don't need to conserve anything.

This. I don't expect Tucker, Bregman, or Framber to stick around no matter what else happens, so I'm all for it. Put an evolving core around Yordan, keep Tuve, and maintain a staff that can hand the ball to this back end after 5-6 and we're gucci.

I'm not sure what to make of the Hader signing. I'm happy the Astros got a reliever of his caliber, but I worry it may disrupt Press. The dude has been nails for years, and they signed a guy who's going to take his job as closer.

Now, Press, by all accounts, is a team guy. Hopefully, he'll be fine in a setup role -- knowing he is getting up there in years. He was America's Closer just last year.

At first blush, I like the deal, but looking deeper, I'm not sure if I like it. I guess it all depends on how Hader and Press are used.
