Didn't realize all or most of the Dodgers pitchers got hurt during the regular season, if all they have is Kershaw and a bunch of young guys they may not make it out of round 1… they needed to win 2 games w Kershaw

Any reason the NL gets an extra days rest today? AL doesn't get it.

To have baseball everyday! If not staggered you get days with four games played and then days with no games played. My one complaint is that they should have staggered the wild card series too so you don't get the one game, a day off, game 2, a day off, then continuing the series normally would expect with days off for travel that is going to happen with the NL Series. I'm glad the AL isn't the League they decided to do this, hate to see the 'Stros putting up with this BS. Week off, play a game, day off, play a game, day off . . .

The Rangers have been very streaky this year, especially after the All-Star break. Does not surprise me they are on a tear right now. Will be very surprised if they can keep it up for the entire postseason.

Braves fan here. I am not making excuses. But, it seems like taking so much time off has affected these teams and got them out of rhythm.

Look at the Braves post season schedule:

Final game of season - 10/1
Five days off
First game of playoffs - 10/7
Day off
Second game
Day off
Third game

It has to be hard to maintain a rhythm with that jacked up schedule.

All the gear shown on MLB commercials were Astros/Rangers and Phillies/Dbacks.

That's kind of my point. You can't get hot if you aren't playing consistently.

But when the Wild Card was only 1 game with only an extra day off, the numbers were about the same.

I can't remember a team ever playing a postseason and not having any games back to back nights until game 4. I haven't looked it up, but I don't ever remember it happening.

I have been consumed with raising my boys and haven't watched much baseball the last 10 years though. This is the first year I have started really watching again in a decade.

The Braves have the deepest batting lineup that I can ever remember. It is insane. Yet they aren't hitting in the postseason. Again, you can't get hot/consistent if you aren't playing.

HOU TEX ARIZ all qualified for playoffs on penultimate day of season. None of them won more than 90 games in regular season, they are a combined 13-1 in the postseason.
Meanwhile all MLB teams that won more than 90 games are now 1-12 in postseason.

I agree that it sucks, but this started last year in the AL, the NL gets this schedule this year, AL next and so on...

Astros 2022 playoff schedule:
Last game of reg. season--Oct.5
5 days off
1st playoff game--Oct.11 in Hou
Day off
2nd playoff game--Oct.13 in Hou
Day off
3rd playoff game--Oct.15 in Sea
Of course we went on to win the WS so it doesn't bother me as much as if we would have lost, but I know your frustration.

Maybe the butt whipping the Braves took last night will ignite them.
