The problem wasn't the angle I showed, it was that it wasn't Dubon at all.

I noticed the glove location difference in yours and looked again. I put Dubon in the search and tried to get the closest similar angle I could but it looks like it ended up showing me an Altuve photo lower in the search. My post is Altuve.

Fact remains that in one of the photos, the ball is just off the plate and flirting with the edge of the batter's box while in the other photo, it's 10-12 inches into the batter's box.

Looking at Dubon's normal stance vs where he is in that photo and then watching the video again, he lifted his front leg to step into it while Garcia never even tried to step into the ball so his body stays in the same place. Dubon's back leg being pulled behind him is something he does when he swings...I have no clue how he can generate the power he does that way but it's unique.

So stepping in and then starting to move the back leg made him a little off balance and caused the wild swing out. The ball wasn't nearly as close as the action indicated but it was definitely a brushback.

My biggest gripe is I wish they could schedule these games where games 6/7 would be Fri/Sat.....sucks staying up drinking and stressing knowing I have to wake up early for work.

Yeah they could have reworked the schedule given how both teams wrapped up the ALDS early. But I know tv money.

Moving the series up 1 day would have had the following schedule

Game 1/2: Saturday and Sunday
Games 3-5: Tuesday-Thursday
Game 6/7: Saturday/sunday

Yeah they could have reworked the schedule given how both teams wrapped up the ALDS early. But I know tv money.

Moving the series up 1 day would have had the following schedule

Game 1/2: Saturday and Sunday
Games 3-5: Tuesday-Thursday
Game 6/7: Saturday/sunday

Had to be a tough at bat for Abreu facing Garcia just because you'd think there'd be zero margin for error. Hit the guy again while appealing the discipline for hitting him two days earlier and that's probably not going to go well.

Anyone heard anything definitive about Abreu's availability for tonight?

I heard the verdict should be by 5 today.

They were saying on the postgame last night that it would be decided before the game today. So before 7:03 PM local.

I don't consider botched calls to be ball/strike version. That usually goes both ways - I hate when an umpire rewards a batter for not protecting the plate with 2 strikes on a pitch a millimeter off the corner. It's Game 7, these guys should be cutting it loose.

I don't want to see some BS "catcher blocking the plate" nonsense that we've seen a few times this year. Or the atrocious, "runner was in the field of play on the throw to first". Hopefully we can avoid these and have a well-played game.

Thankful for the pitch clock/MVR otherwise this becomes a 4.5 hour game.

Garcia has an open stance which makes it less likely he's crowding the plate by leaning in.

The outside corner has been maddening. It's a strike then it's a ball then it's a ball again but a pitch even farther out is a strike.

As an Astros fan I'm not real confident we can win this game at home, crazy that a team can't win at home, not sure I've seen or remember a team like this ? Anyway, it was a fun series and good luck, good thing is it will be done tonight, win lose or draw, someone will face Philly most likely
