The Abreu - Garcia - Maldanado Game 5 incident was unfortunate and hopefully this series is remembered for all the other entertaining reasons. To me, at least through the first 8 innings, Garcia was a little off. Abreu didn't look like himself either. That can't be easy to forget and move on.
Hopefully we have a clean Game 7, no botched calls by the umpire crew, and may the best team win.
Both teams know that isn't happening with this crew lol. Just gotta hope they even each other out
Yeah, did y'all see this? Completely unacceptable to miss 26% of the calls at this level, especially in the championship series.
I don't consider botched calls to be ball/strike version. That usually goes both ways - I hate when an umpire rewards a batter for not protecting the plate with 2 strikes on a pitch a millimeter off the corner. It's Game 7, these guys should be cutting it loose.
I don't want to see some BS "catcher blocking the plate" nonsense that we've seen a few times this year. Or the atrocious, "runner was in the field of play on the throw to first". Hopefully we can avoid these and have a well-played game.
Thankful for the pitch clock/MVR otherwise this becomes a 4.5 hour game.
