But you think there will still be extra spaces in the nearby lots that they haven't sold?

If you aren't there by 5pm I would not expect to be able to pay to get into a lot.

If you haven't reserved a table for Texas Live not sure I'd go there either.

So many good sports bars in DFW area that'll be fun tonight.

Planning to go to Texas Live around 4pm and start watching Stubhub and SeatGeek for prices to fall a bit.
Staying at Texas Live to watch the game is our Plan B (we don't currently have a reserved table). Any suggestions around that area to watch the game if we aren't able to find tickets? Assume we can stand or sit at the bar at Texas Live?

And just a PSA for those who have parking or are looking to park - it will most likely be an absolute cluster**** trying to drive around the ballpark once you exit the highway. I know everyone knows this, but think Opening Day * 10 which is why it's key to have a plan. You do not want to be turning onto one of the streets to park and finding its sold out because the re-direction to the next lot (that may or may not be sold out) is going to take 20+ minutes. Meaning if you strike out twice, you are likely missing first pitch.

I know this applies to any big event, but the streets can get so congested around GLF and GLP that it can be a frustrating nightmare -- doubly so if the rain does come tonight.

Either arrive 2 hours early, or when you start rolling up to the park and see that gas station parking for $120 and you think you can get cheaper at a Rangers lot, just pay the $120. The extra $50 to park and get walking towards the stadium is worth it.

This is a good plan.

That is my plan as well if we get to make it in town for a game.

Prices should be more realistic about an hour before the game. Before the ALDS tickets were less than face. Not saying they will be for WS but they should be reasonabler.

what is face value for these games, let's say for upper levels along the baselines?

Thanks for all the advice. We're leaving FW as soon as my son gets out of school.

Game 2 has the number 1 rated ump. Best in remainder of games was 33. Everyone else in the bottom half…most in bottom third. How do they get to be the ones calling the series??

Not sure why they wouldn't try to have the best umpires for the World Series. I get some of those guys may not want to do it or have other commitments but is that the best we can do? Weird.

I bought on PremiumTicketsDirect.com Aggie owned

It was cheaper than Seat Geek by a large margin and my tickets are in my MLB Ballpark app

Yeah it seems like the World Series would be the All Star game for the umps.

Top 1-7.

Not sure what other commitments these guys would have, this is their full time job.

I really was hoping Will Smith would be inactive.

No surprises

Hopefully we won't see Josh Smith, Hedges, or Will Smith play (that would mean an injury or PR because we're behind)

My only idea is they try to keep crews together? But there had to be a better rated crew if that's the case.

Was Duran on the ALCS roster? I'm not sure I'd take Josh Smith over Zeke but I do kind of feel bad for him being left off after how big of role he played at certain times this season.

No I think he's injured and not available at all.

He hasn't been on the playoff roster at all. Didn't know if it was injury or how bad he played the second half. If it's not injury related then I don't know what Josh Smith would be the pick over him for.

I don't know how it is with MLB, but I would guess there is a hierarchy and tenure priority that considers recent participation.

Let's say you are in the Top20 to be selected, but doing so means you will go 3-4 yrs until your next chance because you go to the bottom of the list.

Would you want to call a game that the media has deemed the worst match-up and the 2 worst teams to be in the WS? Or would you pass and know that next year you'll be at the top of the selection?

I used to Officiate for USA Swimming and had an N2 Cert. That meant I was eligible to participate at any National meets. You had to have the skins to participate, but they also tried to add more to the mix for experience and to be a lure.

If people knew there was no chance to be an Olympic Official, there would be no interest for people to get an N3.

Ok putting in a prediction of Rangers in 6.

I think Eovaldi and Monty keep up the good work, and Scherzer comes out and gives us a quality start in game 3. Bullpen loses us 1 game though. I also have little confidence in winning game 4 with our Heaney/Dunning start

Do Rangers fans even want good ball/strike umpires?

That question is tongue in cheek, kinda because we have the two best framers in the business while Arizona's Moreno is ranked 42nd.

Obviously we don't want bad balls and strikes but if we can influence blue better than Arizona, it's a win for us.

My suggestion if you're arriving less than 2 hours before is to exit I-30E to Nolan Ryan or I-30W to Baird Farm Road. Park in the lot adjacent to the Arrow building (old Seimens) near Ballpark Circle. Walk isn't bad. Good luck.

With the way Eovaldi and Monty are pitching I think an ump with a wide zone is definitely good for us. Either way I don't care about zone size as long as it's consistent throughout the game

That lot can be hit or miss depending on if they open it up entirely. We parked there for ALCS Game 3 and they had both lots opened up and it was easy.

Went back for ALCS Game 4 and they only had one half of it opened up and we had to drive around a handful of times and eventually had the attendant tell us to park in the grass and they were funneling people out of the lot because it was full.

Unfortunately for big games parking always seems like a crapshoot.

Ok, need some advice here. I will gladly drive up to Arlington for the game on Saturday and try to scour the tickets for something close to game time. I have zero issue with that, UNLESS....

I can't find anything. I will have my 8 year old son with me and I don't know where to go or what to do to actually watch the game if I don't go inside the stadium. I can be there as early as possible if I need to be I just don't want to get stuck not going inside the game and then having no where to watch it either.

I know yall keep mentioning Texas Live, but I am not familiar with it in terms of paying for tables, the bar area, all of that with my kid. If it was just me and my wife or buddies I'd find a way to make it work, just not sure for this.

Any suggestions or tips?

EDITED to clarify - I live in B/CS so it's a drive. Not like I can just go back home and watch.

I'll be doing the same thing with a buddy and our two 8-yr olds. I plan to go ahead and find a ticket before we make the drive from Austin, hopefully by noon or so.

But I'll also be watching any advice you get.

Texas Live is huge, with multiple levels, and several different types of restaurants as well as bars. All will have multiple TVs. There is a huge central area that is basically a small theater with a giant screen, in addition to an outdoor patio area, that is partially covered.

After everyone heads into the game, there should be options for you to post up and watch the game without having to pay for a table, I would think even with the extra World Series crowd. There are plenty of options for food and drink, and most of it should be okay for the kid, they are not nightclubs or dive bars, they are higher end sports bars, or straight up restaurants, like Lockhart Smokehouse.

Unless it is a blow out win for us, then you sit some of the starters.

So thought process should be get there around when? Hunker down and find a spot. Search for tickets and if I find them head on in or if not just stay put?
