Carter's defense last night alone should keep him in the lineup. Heck, has he not shown a patience in each at bat that would grant him benefit of the doubt? I think Boch is over thinking this.

On the surface, I don't like sitting Carter.
But having a guy of his caliber (offense and defense) coming off the bench (which will happen) isn't the worst thing.
Carter will replace Grossman after the Rangers are up 5-1 in the 3rd inning when Semien doubles, they intentionally walk Seager and bring in a bullpen arm, only to face Evan ****ing Carter.

Just caught the end of an interview with Hedges on Intentional Talk on MLBtv. Dude is hysterical. A snippett: When discussing which eye you look into when talking to Scherzer : "If it's serious, the blue eye, if you're joking around, the brown eye" He then cracks a huge grin at the double entendre.

He is incredibly patient and has avg about 7PC/AB. As we saw with Verlander, last night... I think he threw 7PC in the 1st IP. You don't want Valdez getting settled in.
We may have a need for Grossman at some point and getting his head in will help, IMO.
Dang tickets to this game are under $40. As a Dallas raised, Houston residing Rangers fan, this makes me happy, think I'm gonna go!
I don't mind Grossman in the lineup vs lefties, but if Grossman and Garver are in the lineup then Grossman shouldn't be hitting 3rd.

Carter is 0-10 against lefties. Grossman had a . 309 batting average with 5 homers and 23 RBIs in 137 plate appearances against left-handed pitchers this season. I think you under-thought this.sburg2007 said:

Grossman also played for the Astros and helped Carter with how to play left field there.
Agree we are lucky to have replay there. Also credit to Semien for taking something from spring training and making it a point to pay attention since he knows the ups aren't.

I saw earlier today that baseball will be on AM 1080 while football will be on 105.3.

I had a buddy post an old 2010 WS Game 3 or 4 screengrab of me from the TV broadcast where I for whatever reason didn't look very happy. I told him that I had "playoff commemorative bucket" nachos early in the playoffs and we won the game, so that my look was likely due to being on my 4th or 5th time in 2 weeks eating bucket nachos to get us the win.
We all knew Altuve was out last night, but this angle shows he missed second base by a MILE. Not even close.
