I swear, the few times I've actually seen them play either live or on TV this season (maybe 8 or 9 total), I feel like they've lost every one of them.

It's not that bad. Nobody compares to Josh Lewin, but he's fine. I usually have the volume so low at night that I can barely hear him.

Then it will happen. Bochy sent a message tonight by using Chapman, and the team responded - came within 6 inches of rallying to win. Point is, Bochy pays attention.

Don't get why Bochy is approaching things like this is some little league team and everyone gets to play.

Why the hell is he sitting JP Martinez when the guy has been on fire since we brought him up? Why does he insist on playing Jankowski and Taveras so much when they have gone colder than the North Pole?

Leody was hitting around .300 before the all star break now he's gotta be around .260. I like Jankowski but he's been really struggling lately too.

Our last 3 losses we scored 0, 0, and 2 runs. The 2 run effort was against the giants ace and one of the best pitchers in the national league. The 2 zero's were against the A's bullpen and detmers. The rest of the league has been crushing both of them and we can't even put up 1 run becomes Bochy goes into little league mode putting ice cold people in trying to heat them up or give them confidence, but it's costing us games.

I'm a big fan of Bochy, but he does some questionable stuff that makes us lose games we probably shouldn't be losing.

I know it's hard to sweep a team, but it's got to be even harder to fail to sweep 3 different teams 3 series in a row by losing the 3rd game.

Bochy uses more coach speak than anyone I've seen.

He was on the radio this week.

If I were translate, I'd say he sees:

• Taveras has too much credibility and Bochy has confidence in him.
• Jankowski has played the role Bochy has asked him to play and done it well.
• JP offers him flexibility and brings more options for Bochy late in games. Great tool off the bench

Boch indicated that they (included Semien) had been talking about the importance of going 1st-to-3rd and the speed that JP has.

I think Boch really likes JP and you can hear it in his voice. I think right now, he sees JP as a utility guy to supplement what the team has already and that he'll keep Taveras and Jankowski in their roles.

Having said that, I think JP is going to make it more and more difficult to start him on the bench. I think if he continues to succeed, he'll likely be the starting CF in 2024. 2024 will be interesting.

One more thing.

Remember Bochy comes from the NL. He knows the value of having a guy you can insert into a game and change the outcome. I think he sees JP that way.

If you need a guy to come in and get a W... or SacBunt... Or PR to get a run in.

I'd have more confidence in Jankowski than Taveras... but far more in JP.

JP seems like a very similar player to Taveras when they are both playing well.

We discussed this a couple weeks ago. I believe current rules allow 2 call-ups with no more than 1 being a P.

I think back then, it was suspected Bradford would be the P, but his 2 GS in AAA since being send down have been terrible. 7ERs in each. Owen White has been mixed in his 2 GS since being sent down.

My guess is Alex Speas. He got blown up on his return to AAA, but in the 7 appearances since have been scoreless.

1st game back: 0.1 IP, 1 H, 2BB, 1 SO, 1 HBP, 4 ERs.

Since: 7G, 8.0 IP, 2H, 6BB, 7SO, 1 HBP, 0ER. 0.087 BA

There are only 3 positional players on the 40. Ornelas (IF), Huff (C), and Dustin Harris (OF). Not sure any of them warrant a call-up. Maybe Huff, if you want him to get a few more ABs and a few more cups of coffee, I suppose.
