If the score holds… should be +199 to +206

Seager is incredible. I'm trying to remember a ranger this dominant at the plate and the only player that comes to mind is Josh Hamilton.

A few articles came out in early 2023 that the shift statistically hurt Seager the most… which meant this year would be a breakout. Love seeing it come to reality!

It appears the Rangers are still looking for a closer.

That might be true, but it has nothing to do with the fact that Stratton is pitching in what was a 6 run game.

What a move by Boch to go to the pen with 2 outs in the 9th, up by 4.

Right. Why make the move.

Maybe show smith confidence. Move doesn't make sense here.

Let Will Smith get this one out to close the game and build his confidence.

Doesn't want to see Ohtani as the tying run.

Seager is 23 PAs from Qualifying.

MLB allows you to take an 0-Fer to get to Qualified. If you add an 0-fer-23, he still has a .326 BA.

Yandy Diaz would be 2nd at .322
Bo Bichette would be 3rd @ .321

This team is outpacing all teams in Rangers history. Reached 70 wins before even '10 and '11. Keep adding on too

.600 ball. 20-9 since the ASB. I predicted about a month ago that 96 wins would win the division. The Rangers would need to go 24-18 to get there, and Houston would need to go 27-14 to tie. Clearly, this is tenuous, and with both teams getting better at the deadline, the key for both teams at this point is to get healthy and continue playing well. The 2011 squad dropped, at most, one series the entire 2nd half of the season. Let that sink in. 56-24 to end the season, iirc. 6 consecutive strong starts from Scherzer and Montgomery. Keep winning series.

Julio Franco is one that comes to mind.

I looked it up:
.359, 32 HRs by Hamilton in 2010 (133G)
.350, 22 HRs by Seager in 2023 (77G)
.341, 15 HRs by Franco in 1991 (146G)
.332, 35 HRs by Pudge in 1999 (144 G)
.326, 39 HRs by Juan-do in 1999 (144 G)
.324, 47 HRs by Raffy in 1999 (158 G)

Perez dumped the ice cooler on Seager in the post game. He could have taken a nose dive after being moved to the pen but he seems to be taking it well.

A-Rod, 2001-2003. 485 games, 156 HR, ~.306 BA

Pudge hit .347 in 2000, but only played in 91 games. Seager I think has played 77 games this year

Man, I'd forgotten a our that Milton Bradley great season (and Milton Bradley foe that matter).

Did Gary Matthew's Jr have an incredible season and then never come close to repeating it again?

Thought I'd dumpster dive and look on the farm at how some of the guys that were brought up have fared:

Bradford (AAA): 2GS, 7.0 IP, 14 ER, 18.00 ERA <- Yikes. I was hoping he'd be lights out. In fairness, he did mention he needed to release some tension and work on some things.

Jon Hernandez (AAA): 16G, 20.1 IP, 4 ER, 1.77 ERA, 19 SO <- Bravo

Otto (AAA): 4G, 13.0 IP, 8ER, 5.54 ERA, 17 SO, 7 BB <- Ok... get those BBs down

White (AAA): 2G, 8.1 IP, 7 ER, 7.56 ERA, 4 SO, 5 BB <- Oh look BBs...

Speas (AAA): 7G, 6.1 IP, 4 ER, 5.68 ERA, 5 SO, 7 BB
Speas (AAA): 6G, 6.0 IP, 0 ER, 0.00 ERA, 4 SO, 5 BB

Speas was the one I was most curious about because of his "story." He got sent down and had a terrible game. 0.1 IP, 4 ER, 1 SO, 2 BB. After that, it looks like he has zipped it up. WAY too many BBs, but seems to have settled.

I'm always curious how players respond to getting sent down.
