Even a no-hitter wasn't fast enough to get them into a brief tie for first.

93 pitches to get through nine innings. That's just an atrocious showing from Cleveland.

I'm telling you. When you wonder why A&M can't get out of its own way, look at this band of geniuses to our south. There is seriously something broken mentally

They traded JV back to town and their sweaty fat man pitcher throws a no-hitter so what are they talking about over there? The Rangers of course. Seriously, they need to figure out a way to rent out all that space in their heads that we currently occupy for free.

The first thing they did was talk about Kenny Rogers perfect game. They're so ****ing scared they're lashing out in every way.

Their fragile psyches can't take it if we actually pull off winning the division.

Ugh. Has it been that long since our last no hitter? That's halfway between today and the Kennedy assassination.

The more I think about your post the more it gives me pause. All kidding aside, I really think there's something to this thought.

Honestly, I wish I was kidding and just taking the opportunity to take an easy crack, but I truly think there is something to it. I think a lot of A&M's athletic decision-making over the decades is reactionary and rooted in obsessing about others, which is not a healthy way to run an organization. And I just see a constant flow of that mindset coming from our largest alumni base.

Guess who had the best trade according to mlb.com?

That's right....

Have been out of pocket tonight. But I did notice that Framber threw a no hitter and the Astros can't keep the Rangers out of their mouths. What a weird obsession. Your guy threw a no hitter and your immediately thought is to talk **** to a team that played no part in the game. Amazing

I just saw that the athletic listed the Astros as a loser at the trade deadline.

Quote:

Houston Astros
Don't wanna be a grump here, as Justin Verlander seems like a nice kid with a bright future, and he instantly makes the Astros better. And there's a lot of utility that comes with acquiring a pitcher who already knows where all the bathrooms are. The Astros won't have to waste precious time explaining to Verlander exactly how they want him to execute their gameplans; he's in, he knows, he's a plug-and-play pitcher. He's also one of the rarest commodities in this market, a pitcher who can help in October even more than he'll help in the second half of the regular season.

Two complaints, though: First, just sign the guy in the offseason, then keep the prospects. Leave the Verlander, take the draft-pick cannolis. I get that they're saving scores of millions doing it this way, with the Mets paying a huge chunk of Verlander's salary, but it's so much easier to just spend the money in the first place.

Second: This feels like a misallocation of resources. The Astros entered the deadline with the fifth-highest Wins Above Average total from their starting pitchers. They're getting absolutely nothing offensively from catcher or first base, ranking close to the bottom for both positions. They ranked second in baseball in adjusted ERA entering the deadline, but only 12th in adjusted OPS. Sure, they're a little scarier in the postseason if they keep their prodigal 40-year-old ace healthy and effective, but the difference doesn't seem worth trading two top prospects from a thin system.

Kendall Graveman is a good get, sure, sure, but where is the lineup help? Man cannot dine on fastballs (and some pretty sweet off-speed pitches) alone. The Astros still need to find dingers somewhere. GB

Makes sense. Verlander should improve their pitching but their issues have been offense.

This thread alone shows the weird divide between what im gonna call "south zone" Ags and "north zone" Ags. Never once have I been over to the astros thread and posted and deleted "sorry wrong thread". As I sure the majority of yall have either….. we just dont care!!! Yep astros fans, yall weird….. dont care for any comments…. go back to astros thread.. This post is because im seeing quite a few new handles over here. If u a Rangers fan good stuff, If u an astros fan creeping…. weirdo! And no im not gonna spend my time tracking all handles different posts on different threads…… thats f'n weird too

Of course it is. The Astros are the Official Major League Baseball Team of Texas A&M Athletics. You aren't a "true" Aggie unless you root for them. **** you if you root for the Rangers.

Listening to the talking heads on MLB network and others over the last week, the Rangers almost seem to be an afterthought. I really hope we can get healthy soon and go on a big run this month.

100%. This is why the move to the SEC was great for about 12 years. I'm not connected to the BMDs, but I hear about the 2 main camps (DFW and HOU) constantly being split and causing rifts - that cannot be good.

I think you are seeing some lurkers. I do look at post history for some, just to see.

There is one (forget his moniker), but has like 300 posts in 10 years. 30 +/- on this thread... 5 or so last year on a Rangers thread and the rest are mostly Premium.

There are some Pro-Rangers posts that are getting 10-15 blue stars which seems insane.

I think what you are seeing are some Rangers fans who have lurked and just starting to join in. Good stuff.

The Rangers org has been quiet over the past few years, so we've been forgotten. Winning can be cultural and it was my concern during the Great Tank. Sure, we got some great picks... like Leiter. But, you want that expectation that you are going to win.

See my post about Max Scherzer calling deGrom about the Rangers organization. I don't think if Max was considering the Dodgers, Cardinals, Yankees, Braves, that he feels the need for that conversation.

We have some work to do and winning has to be the expectation.

Really good pitching matchups tonight with Cease v Dunning.

Dunning not very good in his last four starts. Cease has been getting better over the last month after a slow start.

Chicago has the kind of line up that can help Dunning look better.
