In case anyone wants to relive the game. Astro lurkers can make fun of me for merely enjoying meaningful baseball in July, but I don't give a **** we have sucked for 5-6 years.

I had seen something similar on instagram…I'll try to find it.

Not as long or detailed as Jomboy, but entertaining.
That one is pretty good.

Alright, how the hell do y'all fools post gifs.. I've never been able to figure it out..
You usually have to have the .jpg or .gif type file on the Internet.

Try to post one, and I'll see what you are doing wrong.

What I usually do, is if I see a file from say images.google.com

I right-mouse click an "open image in new tab." Then, if the URL starts with "data" you won't be able to post it. I will then, click on the image and try to "open image in a new tab" to see if it starts with "http://" then, look to see if the URL ends with something like .jpg" />.

From there, you can insert the URL in the Image icon when you post.

You could also reply to this and look at the URL of the following:

You can find that link by going to images.google.com and search for "I'm a moron gif"

That was the link I had copied, then put the img and /img in the brackets and it came up with the question mark thing

Post All-Star Nathaniel Lowe is the real deal. In 12 games since, he is slashing .429/.538/1.276.

Semien and Taveras appear to be heating up as well.

Rangers named as "frontrunners" for Verlander by MLB.com, for whatever that's worth

Scherzer would be cheaper and he's owned the Astros before. I want him instead. He seems perfect. He could bridge the gap until Degrom returns next year.

Scherzer has been pretty bad this year, Verlander has been really good for over a month now. Plus he has more skins in the postseason and I'd love to see Astros fans crying about Kate in a rangers uni.

Scherzer would up his game if playing for a contender. We could possibly get him for cheap too.

How did we not beat that for Robertson ?? Would've loved him

Quote:

The frontrunner for Verlander, according to one source, would likely be the Rangers, who are said to be seeking rotation help and are taking an aggressive approach to the Trade Deadline. It should be noted that Texas pursued Verlander last winter, but the pitcher expressed no interest in joining the Rangers, who were coming off of their sixth consecutive losing season.

Another club said to be interested is the Astros, the team with which Verlander pitched from September 2017 through the end of the 2022 season. One executive pegged a surprise sleeper team in a potential Verlander sweepstakes: the Reds.
So we tried to get Verlander and Kershaw last offseason but were turned down by both. I still think we have a much better shot to get Kershaw next year. Who wouldn't want to pitch in a cool ballpark ( I mean temp wise) and be backed up by the best offense in the game. In addition, Kershaw could be around his family and kids more.

As long as the dodgers don't win the World Series this year, I'd say we might be the favorites to get him. He's said he would only consider the dodgers or Rangers going forward until he retires.

@texasaggie2015 if you're reading this, I'm genuinely curious about this "source" you have. Do their initials happen to be LB, BL, or RB? It's just really intriguing how there was a lot of confidence in some big names, and now you're being told there won't be a big splash. I mean, you said that Dana Brown has been pounding the phones and the Astros have been the most active team leading to the deadline. And he was told they want to win another championship and to do what it takes.

The math is mathing. Can you help me out?

Not too big on Hicks, would've preferred Robertson. Hicks puts too many hitters on base for my liking. Hopefully they have plans for Hader/ Bednar too.

I'm adopting "Just Stupid Behavior" as our team motto/catch phrase the rest of the year. Anybody know how to produce shirts? Would a silhouette of Semien two stepping on the plate with the words "Just Stupid Behavior" underneath sell?

I'm ok with Hicks as a throw in with Flaherty. By himself, we shouldn't be giving up more than a couple lottery tickets.

I caught the tail end of the radio conversation with their rare occasion of breaking away from the Cowboys to discuss the Rangers.

The conversation included Snell and Evan Carter, to which they said no way they'd include Carter. Not sure the context, but they went on to discuss Lorenzen and another SP, and ipast injuries.

Tell me if you've heard this... Lorenzen was a RP most of his career and only last year was he a SP. Only had 97.0 IP. He is at 105.2. Most he's pitched since 2015.

Regarding RP...
Hicks doesn't do it for me. Maybe the Rangers like his 5.2 BB9.

There has to be more to the Robertson story. Seems like a likable guy who enjoyed NY... two stints with the Yankees. I wonder if it was the NYM declaring they are open for business... if maybe they have too many pieces to move and need some movement.

Not sure why the Rangers weren't in on him. Maybe they didn't think the Mets were going to be Sellers and just don't have the relationship/familiarity. The Rangers have 6 Top100 prospects while Miami only has 1, so it isn't like Miami was stocked with high-end prospects. My guess is time was running out for the NYMets to decide and didn't have as much scouting on some of the teams, especially the Rangers in the ALW.

It should be fun ride.

That was part of the conversation on the radio I referenced. Rangers seem to be looking at a SP+RP trade.

Maybe Scherzer or Verlander were not options for the Rangers, with both looking at $43M next year.

Rangers have like $9M in Luxury Cap room and looking at some of the penalties, maybe the Rangers didn't like the way they'd tie up things in 2023, as well.

I know this is cherry-picking stats to suit the writer's story, but couldn't resist...

He's shaken off a rocky start to the season and been one of the most dominant bullpen arms in the sport dating back to early May.

In his past 28 2/3 frames, the flamethrowing righty has pitched to a 1.88 ERA with a 31.4% strikeout rate, an 8.5% walk rate and a mammoth 66.7% ground-ball rate all while averaging a blistering 100.6 mph on his sinker. He's doing so while playing on a modest $1.8375MM salary agreed upon over the winter to avoid arbitration in his final season of eligibility.

Hicks and Jordan Montgomery would be terrific
DallasAg 94
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I'm pretty open to whichever pair we get... Getting Snell before Sunday helps us Sunday.

Montgomery: 20GS, 3.37, 115.0 IP, 111 H, 105 SO, 2.4 BB9, 1.235 WHIP
Blake Snell: 21GS, 2.61, 114.0 IP, 81 H, 147 SO, 5.1 BB9, 1.272 WHIP

I'm fine with any combination of the 4 or Snell, Hader, Montgomery, and Hicks. Been high on the guys from the Cards for a while.

What am I missing with Hicks? He puts guys on base and has blown several leads. I feel like we already have that with about 3 or 4 other guys?

BTW, Sborz began his rehab and pitched Wed in Round Rock. 1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 SO, 0ER.

He'll be a nice addition, if he can fill the role he had.
