Interesting question.

If they keep Snell and Hader, they are over the Luxury Tax... that would apparently move the QO Comp return from being between the CB-2 and 3rd Rd to after the 4th Rd. They are also in a situation where their #1 pick could be dropped 10 spots.

Trading Snell would drop them below it, which means just trading Snell and what he is owed significantly improves their draft in 2024.

From what I can tell, they'd like near MLB ready talent.

Foscue is likely packaged.
Bradford is on the 26, he'd likely be included.

EDIT: Snell has some escalator clauses in his contract, including $1 MM is he gets traded and $1.5 MM if he gets traded and finishes top 3 for Cy Young.

Probably going to be more than that. I was just pointing out there is some talent that will need to go from the Rangers and it might as well be those 2.

I think Snell is #1 in NL ERA right now and 11.6 SO9.

Bradford could contend for the Rangers rotation in 202, but Foscue has no place to go.

I think more highly of White and Otto, but their numbers don't show well.

Foscue is about as MLB ready as it gets.. they better not give up Smitty
