Where we are today is where Houston was in 2015. They started out pretty strong, then we overcame them with a veteran club that got some reinforcements. They had a true ace in Keuchel back then, got into the WC and beat NYY. They had the Royals dead to rites in the division series, but blew it. It took them a couple of more years to get better and add in veterans to their core, then they banged the trash can lid open and won it all. That's what I'm hopeful we will see here in the next 2-3 years, minus the cheating.
Where we are today... is on our way to our 1st WS ring.
To be fair to Eovaldi and the others…. Eovaldi was supposed to be #2…. and Dunning was a bullpen guy but things have changed.. Now the #1 is gone, #2 is missing starts (probably only going to log 18 innings in July) and the weight is falling on those 4's 5's and 1 start callups. That works on bullpen….Now Im guessing Chapman gets several days off after last night. Still better than the last 6 yrs.

The issue isn't whether he will swing. Getting ahead in the count and executing the pitch is the hard part. It's not that easy to spin one at the knees over the center of the plate and have it drop 6 inches late.
