Chapman does have character issues, but hopefully his talent and this clubhouse will be a good fit. And the price was certainly right. Much less than I was afraid we'd have to give up.

fairly recent, but was supposedly for an ankle injury? Not sure if that was a phantom injury to clear space or legit, but I am assuming he'll be back soon (no rehab stint in the minors). Brilliant move by management. Get a deal early, low salary, big arm. Room to go get more if others relievers continue to underperform. The move puts them on notice that they could go to a bad team, so they will now start to overperform.
We gave up essentially nothing of long term value for him. Very impressive.
I was telling you guys that we shouldn't have to give up any of our top 100 prospects to acquire talent that could help the team, but nobody was listening or believing me.
This Cabrera guy we gave up wasn't even on my radar and I doubt Ragans turns into a massive stud pitcher so I'm fine with the deal.

I think Chapman in particular carries significant enough risk, combined with his age and up and down performance the past few years, that his price would be lower than others (like Hader, Bednar, Diaz or Clase, even though I think Clase isn't going anywhere).

DFW is normally 105.3.
The only time I've seen radio blacked-out is if it is on like ESPN or a specific TV network and the broadcast on the radio followed.

IMO, it is a win for everyone.
We get a cheap LH-RP that has tremendous upside and he didn't cost a ton.
Ragans gets an opportunity that he just wasn't going to get here. He was on the 40, but we're just not going to run him out there like he needs as a SP. He has the opportunity to really get some time at the MLB level to settle in. I liked him and wish him well.
KC moves a piece and gets a guy that has team control through 2028. Ragans has been a SP his entire career and I think that is where he ends up.
The add-on was a 17 yo OF we signed in 2022 that is too far away to really know much about. AFAIK, he wasn't a visible Int'l player and was lump with a bunch of guys who signed.
