This!! When we were swept it was on the road, so if you want to do a comparison, I think getting swept at home is much worse!!!

Told my kid I'd get him a hat months ago…he chose city connect. And the dark blue was a surprise as I thought it was black as well.

I know this team is totally different, so it shouldn't matter much, but I seem to remember us always doing poorly in Chicago. Even when we were good in 2016. This looks like a good opportunity to win some games up there.

Yeah, that was back in the days when JD would tip his toe into the free agent market, but not really make a push. We'd typically be "in the running" but come up short. I guess we dodged a bullet with this one though.

Eovaldi plunked him on the wrist. Later in the game he attempted to bunt indicating he probably couldn't swing the bat.

Urshela (fractured pelvis) just went on the IR, as well as Neto (Oblique). I believe Neto was drafted last June. They joked that he had more GP in MLB than he did in the minors.

Urshela (UIF): 62G, 214 AB, .299, 2HR

This season will be all about replacement players, IMO. Do you have the depth the weather the injuries.

Houston has lost Yordan Alvarez and any hope McCullers would come back.

We went most of the season without Seager, deGrom and Odorizzi.

Dunning has stepped up. Jung, Taveras, and Duran have all been key to our success.

We did manage to avoid Lance Lynn for this series. Yesterday he struck out 16 and allowed 3 runs over 7 innings... and still got the loss.

But on the season he has a whip of 1.51 and an era at 6.51, so he hasn't had the best season thus far either.

I forgot about Rendon getting hit by Eovaldi and the ensuing "bunt" attempts. That seems like forever ago but it was just Thursday.

Agree with this. They have way too many good players, and money locked up in those players to suck on purpose. They're going to fight until the trade deadline.

5 teams in the American League still haven't scored 300 runs yet for the season. 4 of those teams reside in the AL Central. The twinkies are the only team over 300 and they have 310.

We still have 2 series with the white Sox, guardians, twinkies. 1 series with the tigers. Done with the royals.

The AL Central is weak and would be nice to feast on it since we kind of dropped the ball against the weak NL Central.

After playing the rays, jays, and angels our remaining strength of schedule dropped dramatically. For people who don't want to click, we have the 24th most difficult schedule left out of 30 teams. We're pretty much even with the Astros in remaining strength of schedule.

I guess we don't have to hear the " you guys never play anyone good" excuse from Astro fans for awhile.

Who are these good players?

Their core relies on: Andrus (2B-SS, 50G, .195), Hanser Alberto (3B-SS, 30G, .220), Lance Lynn (15 GS, 6.51 ERA), Deikman (13G, 7.94 ERA).

They would need to win their next 11G in order to get to .500.

We're going to make their SP tonight look CYoung level, but @31 this is his 1st career GS @ MLB.

I know Chi Sox are far from out of it, but they got some pieces maybe they wanna shop come late July

I'd like to see Joe Kelly in our bullpen. He has a club option at $9.5 MM for next year that Chicago may not want to exercise.

Cease, Crochet, Giolito, Kopech, Kelly, Gravemen, Lopez, Anderson, Vaughn, Benintendi, Robert, Jiminez, Lynn, and Hendricks.

All players that at the very least I feel comfortable saying would be classified as "solid" to "good" players around the league. With Robert, Cease, and Hendricks being more like "great" players. Of course some of them are having down years, but that doesn't mean you throw in the towel in June in a super weak division.

I'd be happy with any of them

Martin Maldonado has the fourth lowest career batting average in MLB history for players with at least 3000 at bats. Jeff Mathis has the second worst, Mike Zunino third.

And Cy Young is 5th.
