He does deserve a start, but obviously it is going to further weaken a struggling bullpen. Somebody(s) will need to step up.

Also, with the off day yesterday, I'm not sure why Dunning is starting tonight? The off day should have covered for the missed start from deGrom. I was expecting him to get a start next week sometime. Extra day of rest of the other starters I guess.

I saw that. Didn't want to post it here and gloat because it really sucks for the guy personally. I also know Degrom is in an uncertain situation and didn't want the bad karma.

You know if the shoe was on the other foot and Degrom had to get TJ, the Astros board would be celebrating.

It's gotta be this pursuit of spin rate that's made this take off in the last decade. That's the only thing I can think of is something adding more torque to what is already a damaging motion.

This. Too many throwers rather than pitchers. It's not sexy to throw 89-90 and get guys out. They want more guys who throw mid to upper 90's.
