The one area that Jung still needs to improve on is his whiff rate or whiff % and his zone contact %. He is second worst in both categories; with a 35.1 whiff rate and a 71.9 zone contact rate. He's only second behind Bubba Thompson.

that second hit got his average up to .250. If he can maintain that, with his speed and defense, he can have the CF job as his.

And Thompson's speed is legit. He had a so-so bunt that didn't go far and he nearly beat it out. We need to play two out of the three of Taveras-Thompson-Jankowski as often as possible to get some speed into the lineup. Plus they improve the outfield defense as well.

I have been so impressed with Langeliers this weekend. Guy plays stellar defense behind the dish and then drops bombs like that. The A's have a stud in that guy.

Also, one of the worst pitches I've seen deGrom throw. Just a cement mixer over the plate.

He is VERY good. Feel bad for him being in Oakland. He will for sure be traded at the deadline

He looks pretty solid behind the plate. I don't think we can count of Garver to be much of an option at catcher. He has a hard time staying healthy, so we might need to bring somebody in if Leon isn't getting it done as the primary backup behind Heim.

Totally agree on Garver. He needs to be the primary DH and that's about it. I don't trust him to stay healthy behind the plate. The issue then is are you going to carry Leon as well? Because someone has to let Jonah have some games off.

It's hard to carry three catchers, but with both J. Smith and Duran able to play infield and outfield it's possible. With this being the last year of Garver's contract, it's also possible we just eat the rest of it and cut him. Doubtful we'd get much of anything in a trade, but that's possible as well.
