Just won a playoff game and we are talking about Houston.

Let's win tomorrow so Dunning can start Game 1 in Baltimore.

BTW - night and day difference between crowds in St. Pete and Minneapolis. Real playoff baseball up north.

TB already had support issues. Putting a game there at 2:08 PM is the height of stupidity.

Wasn't thinking about the time zone difference on top of that, but still. You've got a team with support issues anyway and then you start the game at a time that requires people to take a half day for a three game series. The scheduling on MLB playoffs is mind numbingly stupid.

A little bit subdued in Milwaukee which is somewhat surprising considering the strong regular season support. Possibly due to the quick postseason outs since making it to Game 7 of the 2018 NLCS.

You think we'd start him twice in a row on 3 days rest?

It's so nice to win the first game of this series. Very little margin for error still, but we now have 2 games to win 1.

We snap the 6 game playoff losing streak from the disastrous Jeff banister era. I feel like Banister was the Jason Garrett of the rangers. Handpicked guy from by Jon Daniels, but strangely enough nobody else wants banister to manage similar to Jason Garrett or Jerry's hand picked stooge,

Lets keep racking up the wins

Guy was a clown. His approach reminds me of blowhard college coaches like Tony vittello.

I went to a Rays - Rangers game there in June. No clue why it's not full. The stadium isn't bad, just plain. It's a little hard to move around within the stadium, and the food wasn't typical stadium quality. It felt like the AC wasn't on, but everywhere in Florida is like that. It's in a decent area and not hard to get to.

Nice to see Arizona trying to hit a baseball again after laying down last weekend.

Dunning pitched Sunday (10/1) and G1 is Saturday (10/7).

We're going Eovaldi tomorrow/Wednesday.

**** Arizona. They went all out against us. Gave us Gallen twice in 2 separate mini 2 game series then laid down and took it up the butt from the Astros. Didn't even try to fight back really.

I hope the Diamondbacks get eliminated as soon as possible.

Royce Lewis kicked our ass when we played the Twinkies. He's the main reason I wanted to avoid Minnesota.

I'm totally ok with taking our chances on the rays / orioles side of the bracket and living with the results.

The Twinkies averaged 10 runs per game against us it seems like and the Astros probably beat us more times than any other team.

A rangers vs Jays ALCS would be great. I know it's extremely unlikely, but the jays don't have Jeff banister to kick around anymore so we can take them.

Of course they went all out against us. There was over a month left in the season. Why wouldn't they?

Not just giving TB the early game today, but giving them the early game for EACH game of the series is beyond stupid. You'd think they'd throw them a bone to attract a better crowd for at least one of the games.

It's never been about crowds, it's always been about TV ratings and time zones.

No one cares about Texas vs TB except Texas and TB fans.

They could still have them in the evening. These individual start times are idiotic.

ESPN and ESPN 2 are both broadcasting games right now that started around 7 CST.

Texas/TB was on ABC, and ABC isn't giving up primetime television slots for Texas vs Tampa Bay play-in wildcard game 1.

"Stadium isn't bad", then lists three bad things about it.

Facing another righty tomorrow, which this team seems to hit much better against. Better not see Grossman's .200 avg vs righties in the lineup again. Garver is a vet and has an .843 ops vs righties this season. Put him in the 5 hole Boch!

Want:
Carter
Semien
Seager
Garcia
Garver
Heim
Lowe
Jung
Taveras

Probably:
Semien
Seager
Lowe
Garcia
Garver
Heim
Jung
Taveras
Carter

I dont mind Carter hitting in front of Semien and Seager the rest of the season. Im sure he will be much higher next season.

Semien is 1 of 4 players to play in all 162 games this season. Marcus Semiens last 3 seasons - 162,161,162 games played.

Year before that was the covid season, then the year before that he also did 162

Baseballs current iron man.

People talk about unbreakable records and I think one is definitely Cal's iron man streak.

Even though pitching does win championships, our playoff fortunes will likely be determined by our hitting. They are the big mystery in all of this.

We know what our rotation will do- pitch well and keep the opponent off the scoreboard for the most part through 5 or 6 innings.

And we know what our bullpen will do- suck the life out of all of us and be epically terrible. They will cough up runs like a bodily function.

But our offense is the deciding factor. We never know which offense will show up each game. The first half offense scored plenty of runs to cover up the hideous bullpen. But the second half offense couldn't score enough to make a winner out of any starting pitcher. No telling which shows up.

I saw some good at bats today from most of the hitters. We beat them despite a bad game from semien, Garcia, and Jung.
