I have to believe this series (despite the outcome of the first two games) has increased the value of Taveras, Duran, and Smith as we near the trade deadline. They've all flashed at times and had big moments while filling in for Seager and Garcia. Leody and Duran in particular have been hitting the ball on the screws and before tonight, were victims of straight up bad luck.

Ohtani was the scheduled SP tomorrow. Their game tonight was postponed. He has given up 14ER, over 16.1 IP, over his last 3 GS (only GS in July). 6HRs given up.
I think most MLB are scrambling to shore up their SP more than anything. Teams might be concerned what he contributes as a SP. As a DH, some teams would need to see how he fits in the lineup. Sure, best hitter, but if all you are getting is a hitter, you may have a DH that has to play the field.
It could be just a way to take the pressure off him for tomorrow's GS. Could be no real market materialized.

Agree. Leody has been pretty consistent for about a year now. He's a very good CF.
I don't want to give up any of those three, they've shown their value. You'll need them for a deep post season run.

I think that's more what has happened. They didn't get the historical offers they expected and are either packing it in on a trade or desperately trying to scare somebody into doing something stupid.
Oh I completely agree. I'm nowhere close to giving either of those dudes up unless it is a big time haul. Just saying these last few games must've generated interest, which is not a bad thing.
