One thing we don't do well as a staff AT ALL is strike guys out. Makes having guys like Chapman, Speas etc. that much more important because that's exactly what they do, and we need more of it.

There is a constant change in that regard, it seems.

During the roid years, it was power pitching. Hitters would be more patient to drive PC up and watch the P run out of PC in the 5th.

15-20 years ago, it went to "pitch to contact." Ground balls, good defense and have quick innings reducing PC.

Then, came the 3-Outcome strategy. If you are going to let me hit it, I'm going to swing for a HR and take my chances.

Now, it is Power-to-Power. Bring the Gas at 100mph+.

This will lead to small-ball. Bunts. Steals. Move the runner over and get some Runs. That will take you back to the '70s.
