Have they mentioned on the broadcast if they are using minor league or major league calls for balls/strikes tonight? Maldy's out here framing pitches like the ump is calling them and they aren't using the robot ump zone.

What can you guys tell me about Bligh Madris? Does he factor at all in this teams future?

He's the odd man out to make room for Dirden.

Convince me he deserves a 40 man over Dirden.

I think he will get cut/traded eventually. I believe Jose starts on 60 day giving Dirden a spot. Then when he comes off Madris gets released unless an arm who has been passed over fall off a cliff

If Dirden plans out he's the perfect guy to semi platoon with Chas. Lefty bat that has trouble with lefties, but hits righties well. Can play CF well enough too.

But if he makes it and if Brantley is out a month, will Dirden really factor in in the OF mix? Yordan, Tucker, Chas, & Jake are likely ahead of him. Brantley will be back soon so he will be too. We're trying to justify Diaz and if he needs an occasional spot start in LF then that adds someone else getting ABs ahead of Dirden.

Bligh was a move made by someone in the front office. I assume one of the assistant GMs. By removing him from the team without giving them much of a shot kind of makes Brown the bad guy who doesn't trust his AGM. Plus I assume he's going to go somewhere else. Dirden can't go anywhere.

Bligh is a lefty bat too with slightly more versatility since he can play OF and 1st. Finally, it's the 26th man on the roster who likely is out in a month. How much is it really going to matter?

I don't really have a dog in this one unless it impacts Diaz. Just throwing a few ideas out there.

I think I can confidently say most of us want a guy who can hit (and also play a little defense) to usurp Maldy.

The knock on Diaz is that he's not good on defense compared to Maldy and Lee.

True. He can still gun guys out, but what he does best, apparently, is gameplan and control the pitchers.
