Lance McCullers Jr. is not playing catch yet and Yordan Alvarez still hasn’t swung a bat, Dusty Baker said.

it should’ve never been a debate to begin with, but folks started watching the team in October and drew wild conclusions off three weeks of games.

Heartbreaking news: #Rays radio broadcaster Dave Wills died early this morning. He was 58, had been with team since 2005, and immensely popular and well-liked. Team canceled today’s schedule broadcast, will have a moment of silence before game.

More from Dana Brown: "We are still in communication with Casey Close (Kyle Tucker's agent). We're optimistic. We think something can get done. We've also started talking to (Framber) Valdez and his agent."

That run-scoring single sends Kyle Tucker to 7-for-15 in Grapefruit League play. He'll leave for Team USA tomorrow morning.

Agreed. Given our current roster structure, I think he offers more value and can see the field quicker as a starter than reliever. I like that Brown is willing to be creative to get our 13 best arms on the big club.Farmer1906 said:
With the log jam of high leverage 1 inning types in our pen, I like finding a role for Blanco. You never know when the injury bug can hit, so having another potential starter in the system is a great idea. I wonder if this was a choice between Blanco and Abreu. Also, does Blanco have 3 pitches? I thought he was a 2 pitch guy mainly.
Luis Garcia built his pitch count to 50 today during his final appearance before the World Baseball Classic. He allowed four hits and one run to the Nationals across three innings.

I have a great memory of that game. My two kids were young and we were going to Disney Land. Flying out that day from Lake Charles, Louisiana to Houston for a connecting flight then to Los Angeles of all places. I was watching the game at home in Lake Charles when it was time to leave for the airport. Got off the airplane in LA and walking through the terminal I saw highlights (I thought) of the game being played in a bar. I stopped to find out who won and realized the game was live!Quote:
The #26 doesn't have a ton of history attached to it before the 1990s, other than my man Louie Meadows who hit a pinch hit grand slam off the Dodgers one Sunday afternoon. Back in June 1988, the Astros beat the Dodgers 5-4 in that insane 22-inning game where Fernando Valenzuela ended up playing first base and position player Jeff Hamilton took the loss for LA.
