I showed the retired side picture to my wife first, told her to guess who it is. She gave up quick. Showed her the other picture, she said, "No way. He looks like some middle-aged dad." Then I read her the tweet.

When the Rockets blew the big lead vs Phoenix to go down 3-1 and someone said it was Choke City (maybe the Chronicle)then they turned around and won the series and it turned into Clutch City, that was kind of cool. But that was organic, not something cooked up by the marketing dept.
As I recall this it's almost hard to realize that I used to care about the NBA. That's been a long time ago.

I know it's a long ways off but if the Astros could repeat and earn a nickname like the Big Red Machine wouldn't that be cool?
Does anyone else remember Orange Crush for the Astros in the 70s? Invariably they would get our hopes up then get swept by the Reds, or somebody, and the Chronicle would run a headline in the sports section saying "Orange Crash".
